At Anime Japan 2013 Sony's new HMD (head-mounted device) takes those who wear it into the world of anime. It tracks your head movements so it feels as if you're actually inside a cartoon. Turning your head to the left or right Also Makes what your watching move in That direction as well. At Sony's Booth They Demonstrated the Technology using the anime The IDOLM @ STER, and They Demonstrated with two Different Scenarios. One Scenario Placed the user at a concert, with the Wearer in the perspective of an audience member. The other is set in the offices of the talent agency from the anime and lets you watch the cast behind the scenes.
Graphinica, a special effects studio active in several anime (The Pilot's Love Song, Girls und Panzer) blurs realities boarders and animation even further with its Live2D motion capture technology. With the use of the Xbox 360 Kinect device and a microphone they can translate not only the voice, but movements of an on screen 2D character, and while the technology is common this uses a 2-D animation while others most comonly will use 3-D to get closer to reality as they can.
With all of this technology that is being advanced and released it brings around the question of what will come next for the world of anime and even gaming? Will anime fans get a real SAO experience?
