What is this update Izuru-san? Well the fourth commercial for the anime adaptation of Tsutomu Nihei's sci-fi manga has offered another look at what we will get from this series.
This short promotional video for the series has ,in its short time, given me much insight as for whats to come. The first thing I notice from this sneak peek is the combination of both the 2D norm for character animation and 3D cgi of the series mecha. This is nice because not everyone is a cgi fan when it comes down to anime, myself included, there are few series that have actually pulled it off (Tiger&Bunny, and Gatchaman Crowds), but we will just have to see how well it works for this project.
A little Background to the production side of the series is that the spring 2014 anime is produced by Polygon Pictures (Transformers: Prime, Tron: Rising, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) as its 30th anniversary title. Kobun Shizuno, the director of 2005-2007 American TV series G.I. Joe: Sigma 6 for Gonzo as well as three Detective Conan films (Quarter of Silence, The Eleventh Striker, Private Eye in the Distant Sea), will also be directing this upcoming series.
